Irish folk duo The Winter Codes have recently released their new LP Set The Darkness Reeling and it’s definitely a testament to the wealth of collective knowledge this talented band share.
Infused with Irish folk influences, Set The Darkness Reeling has been a long time in the making and it’s proof that practice really does make perfect. – “We got the idea to record an LP of five of our songs which then became the Set The Darkness Reeling album.”
The Winter Codes have collaborated with many talented musicians to create this incredible LP, including Daithi Meila from the Irish/Bluegrass band Jig Jam, folk singer Lisa Loughrey, and engineer Sean Montgomery.
Running throughout Set the Darkness Rising is the emotional tribute to band member Paul Walshe, who tragically passed away ten years ago. With this release, he is immortalised, and a number of the track even feature some of his expert musicianship.
